Become an Active Streets Volunteer

Help the City and County monitor Active Streets! We need people to visit street segments one day per week and report back any issues with barricades and signage. Because this is a phased rollout, start dates for volunteer assignments will vary. You will receive more information when you sign up. If you have immediate questions, contact bikewalk@milwaukee.gov.

Volunteer commitment:

• Attend a 45-minute webinar training on either Wednesday, 5/13, 5:30 – 6:15, or Thursday 5/14, 1:00 – 1:45; a recording will be available for those unable to attend
• Visit your assigned street segment once per week on your chosen day
• Fill out a Google Form for your assigned street segment by 8 PM on your chosen day
• Commit to at least four weeks of monitoring
• Let your DPW or Parks contact know if you cannot complete your assignment by 4 PM the day before
• Take photos of people using the street (optional)
